2012 Basketball Recruits To Remember
USC is having a solid season on the hardwood so far. They are sitting in a good position in the SEC East and if Darrin Horn can win some games this season then his work on the recruiting side will come much easier. He's already got two great prospects in the 2011 class in Anthony Gill and Damien Leonard. The talent on this team is getting deeper and deeper and USC has a chance to have an outstanding basketball program for the next few years. If they want to take a leap then they will have to continue to recruit top notch players. Here is a list of guys to watch out for in the 2012 class that USC is after:
I would say that these appear to the main prospects on USC's board right now for the 2012 recruiting class. Brice Johnson and Shaq Roland are local products from South Carolina. Johnson just had a monster game this past Friday where he pulled down 23 rebounds. He's a big time in-state prospect that has the size USC needs to be a force on the inside. Shaq Roland is a dual sport athlete who will be a top prospect in both football and basketball. He's got offers to do both at South Carolina and both coaches want this kid in their class for next year. I would say it's a top priority to land guys like these if Darrin Horn wants USC at the next level in the SEC. He battled for guys like Bruce Ellington from South Carolina and even landed Damontre Harris from North Carolina over some top programs. Montrezl Harrell and Braxton Ogbueze are both from North Carolina so it will be a tough draw to try and pull these guys from out of state.
There are other prospects that USC has offered or have some interest in the Gamecocks but I'm thinking the first 4 players on this list could be their top priority. So names could come and go but this is just a start for those out there interested in some basketball recruiting.
