Jerrell Adams decided his college decision needed no more waiting. Adams announced this morning a verbal commitment to South Carolina just days before National Signing Day. Adams took an unofficial visit to Clemson this past weekend that people took as an opportunity for the Tigers to steal one from the Gamecocks. Well it turns out that there was no cause for concern.

Adams can play both tight end and defensive end at the next level. He really shined at the Shrine Bowl at the tight end position by catching 3 touchdown passes and showed some long arms and an ability to bring down the tough catch. I really like his abilities at the tight end position and I think he may start there at USC once he enrolls in school. The only question there is with Adams is whether or not he'll have the grades to enroll in the fall. Most expect him to end up at prep school and become a Gamecock in January 2012.

Whenever he does enroll just know that we've got ourselves a playmaker. I think he's been a Gamecock for a long time now and finally decided it was time to make an announcement. A great pickup for the Gamecocks as Adams played all over the field at Scotts Branch. He had 8 TD's passing, 9 TD's rushing, 78 total tackles, 3 sacks, and 3 interceptions.

Gamecock fans should be really happy today.
