The South Carolina men's baseball finds themselves ranked in another preseason poll this offseason. This time the Gamecocks will start out at the #7 spot in the College Baseball Lineup's Preseason Top 30. The defending national champions will look to make a return trip to Omaha in hopes of reliving the glory of the summer of 2010.

The SEC finds themselves with another slate of top notch baseball programs as 6 SEC teams are in the Preseason Top 30. Florida is #1 with Vanderbilt at #4, LSU at #17, Auburn at #23 and Arkansas at #28. South Carolina will have a tough challenge ahead in competing for the SEC title.

Matt Price and Jackie Bradley Jr. are considered some of the top notch talent that returns this season to lead the Gamecocks. USC returns 6 positional starters along with several members of the pitching staff. Unfortunately the Gamecocks will have to find replacements for guys like Blake Cooper who was lights out in 2010 for the Gamecocks.

USC has the talent to compete but will have to play smart baseball in order find themselves among the nation's elite this year. The season opens February 18th with a 3-game series against Santa Clara.
