South Carolina thought they were set with all the coaches on the staff for another season. Leave it to the crazy world of coaching changes to get rumors started. One of our coaches are being mentioned as a candidate for a job at Alabama.

Shane Beamer's name has been mentioned by MrSEC.com as a candidate to replace former WR coach Frank Cignetti at Alabama. Cignetti left for another job and Alabama has been trying to find someone to replace him since last week. They've mentioned Tee Martin from Kentucky as a possible candidate and Tim Brewster, the former head coach at Minnesota.

Beamer just recently got a break from his defensive duties so he could focus solely on special teams and recruiting. Spurrier thought he was overworked so he switched some duties around that he thinks would help better the team in all areas across the board. Beamer has done a fantastic job as recruiting coordinator and USC has brought in some quality classes the last few years. He's a big part of the reason for the talent increase at South Carolina and his loss would surely be missed.

At this point, I don't see Beamer leaving for Alabama. It's a prime job but I think he's in a good location now as an up-and-coming young coach being able to learn under a quality staff. Rumors certainly aren't fun to here, especially if it involves one of your coaches, but I wouldn't get too worked up about this one just yet. I would envision Beamer will be at USC for the foreseeable future.
