There has been an interesting development in the Brandon Golson recruitment that appears may prevent him from enrolling at USC in January.

Academics were an issue preventing Golson from enrolling for the 2010 football season. He ended up going to prep school at Fork Union Military School in hopes of increasing his grades and being able to make it into USC academically. Golson was a productive player in high school in a short amount of time and was expected to be an excellent speed rusher on the outside from the linebacker spot.

Now there is word coming out of the Louisville camp that he will enroll at Louisville instead of USC this January. Grades appear to be the main issue right now like mentioned earlier and if he is indeed switching his commitment to Louisville then it's because of academics. Pure and simple. Golson wanted to be at USC but if you are unable to enroll then you have to look at other options. Coach Charlie Strong did an excellent job with little talent in Louisville this year and appears to be an up and coming head coach capable of building a winner. He's a defensive mind and relates well to the recruits. Golson would probably do well in Louisville.

We all want him at USC but they are times when things just don't work themselves out. I hope this is all internet rumors but there seems to be some legs here to this story. If Golson chooses to go elsewhere then I'll wish him the best of luck.
