The Gamecocks baseball team received some much needed good news today when catcher Brady Thomas was awarded a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA. Coach Holbrook announced the news on Twitter earlier today.

Thomas was a clutch hitter for the Gamecocks in the postseason and will provide that veteran leadership behind the plate for the new group of starting pitchers and relievers taking over this upcoming season. Thomas being back in the fold gives the Gamecocks lineup another player to move around in different positions with Robert Beary. Beary could play a few different positions and could see some time in the DH role and in the outfield. It looks like the catcher lineup is set between Thomas, Beary, and Dante Rosenberg.
