South Carolina continues to pursue 7'1" center prospect Jordan Dickerson for the 2012-2013 season. Dickerson got good news recently when he received his qualifying score and the interest level has gone up tremendously in his recruitment.

Dickerson plans to take a visit to Providence and recently named them a slight leader at this time. He was supposed to visit this past weekend but ended up playing in a tournament thus postponing his official visit until later. His coach also mentioned that he plans to take trips to South Carolina and Auburn but there is no set dates for those visits.

He's one of the remaining prospects who can compete on the Division 1-A level and there are plenty of teams showing interest. Outside of the three already mentioned, DePaul, South Florida, Dayton and VCU have all offered with St.John's, Arkansas and Florida State showing interest as well.

Can the Gamecocks land Dickerson? They've got a chance if they can withhold Providence during his official visit there next week. Time is running out for kids as summer school starts soon enough and the few remaining recruits like Dickerson have a decision to make very quickly.

There is a lot South Carolina can offer Dickerson with early playing time being one. South Carolina could use his defensive presence early but he'll have to learn to be aggressive on offense and more physical if he wants to stay on the court.

The Gamecocks need front line help and Dickerson can help solve that problem. They just need him to visit to have a chance.
