South Carolina not only landed a commitment from wing player Thaddeus Hall Thursday but they also picked up a commitment for the post when Mindaugas Kacinas committed as well.
It was widely expected that Kacinas would commit to South Carolina based on his relationship he had with Frank Martin during his run at Kansas State. Kacinas is from Lithuania and was placed at Word of Life Prep School in Wichita, Kansas by Martin and his staff. The 6'8" post player picked the Gamecocks over interest from Wichita State, Wake Forest and Boston College.
Kacinas will more than likely bring that international flavor to the Gamecocks basketball program and can probably play both inside and out for the Gamecocks. He's done well at Word of Life and hopefully will be able to translate his game to the next level.
If Frank Martin likes him enough to put him on the team then Gamecock fans should be excited. Another solid pickup for Coach Martin and a much needed one at that.
