South Carolina is racking up the commitments at a torrid pace and just added another one this afternoon.
Tarik Phillip, a combo guard from New York, has committed to Frank Martin and South Carolina. This is Martin's fourth commitment in two days and continues to add to the impressive class that he's worked on since becoming the Gamecocks head coach just a few weeks ago.
Phillip is from Brooklyn, New York but transferred down to Charlotte to play for Queen City Prep School. Phillip seems like a player that can play the point and shooting guard position for USC but South Carolina may need him on the point right away. Phillip can score the ball averaging 26 points this past year but also dished out seven assists as well.
In an interview with TheBigSpur.com, Phillip's coach mentioned that he has a "high basketball I.Q." and is a player with a "very, very high intensity level."
Frank Martin is an intense individual and bringing in Phillip with that intensity level means South Carolina is getting a worker at the guard position.
You can't help but get excited about South Carolina basketball right now. Four commitments in two days is pretty impressive for Coach Martin.
And we may not be done.
