Wednesday marks the ending of an era for 18 former Gamecocks and the subsequent beginning of a potential new career as the University of South Carolina will host its Pro Timing Day on Wednesday morning.
This is an annual event that showcases former Gamecocks as they hope to impress NFL coaches and scouts through a variety of workouts and drills.
This year, South Carolina will have 18 former Gamecocks participate in Wednesday's Pro Timing Day. They are as follows:
Of the 18, Marcus Lattimore will likely draw the most attention. The former Gamecocks is well on his way to recovery from knee surgery and is considered to be "well ahead" of schedule in the rehabilitation process. Lattimore will likely skip out on some drills but the possibility of him performing ones that he's ready for is certainly there.
Other Gamecocks expected to draw more attention include DeVonte Holloman, Ace Sanders, D.J. Swearinger and Devin Taylor.
Wednesday's events are open to the public and fans can enter the stadium through Gate 4 on the west side of the stadium beginning at 10 a.m. in the morning. The on-field portion of the event won't begin until 11 a.m.
It's a big day for these former Gamecocks and certainly wish them all the best as they hope to impress NFL coaches and scouts and hopefully realize a dream come true in April in the 2013 NFL draft.
