After last weekend's miraculous comeback, did you really expect Connor Shaw to sit out this weekend's game against Mississippi State?

I didn't think so.

Connor Shaw returned to practice on Wednesday after sitting out Monday and Tuesday's practice due to an illness. Shaw was suffering from an illness this past weekend, along with a knee injury, that kept him out of the starting lineup against Missouri but his will and determination brought him in late in the game.

The rest is history.

This week, Shaw gets to come home for the final stretch of home games for his career. Right now he's trying to become the Gamecocks all-time wins leader at quarterback. Shaw sits at 22-5 in his career at South Carolina but has four home games left to break Todd Ellis's record of 24 wins.

Shaw's status as the starter for this weekend's game seemed confirmed on Wednesday night with him being able to practice but during Thursday's radio show, Steve Spurrier said Shaw was "ready to go" this weekend against the Mississippi State Bulldogs.

It's good to know the unquestioned leader of this offense and football team is feeling good and ready to help South Carolina get one game closer to a possible SEC East division title.
