One-time Gamecock commitment Arden Key was planning on making a late announcement for his commitment in January.

However, sometimes, plans change and Key has done just that. Key tweeted out on Monday night that he will commit in June to a school that was in his Top Five.

Key, a four-star defensive end, committed to South Carolina in June of 2013 only to decommit later last year in September. There was talk that Georgia was the school to beat at the time but Coach Lorenzo Ward visited Key right around the time he decommitted and reassured Key where the Gamecocks stood with the talented recruit. South Carolina is one of the Top Five schools on Key's list but he listed them at the bottom at No. 5. The top four in order were Oregon, Miami, LSU and Ole Miss.

Now, it's a bit of a surprise that Georgia is not on the list but this has to be good news for the Gamecocks. Even though he's considered in fifth place right now, experts believe he still will choose South Carolina over the rest of them. He's got a great relationship with Coach Ward and the defensive staff at South Carolina. The opportunity for playing time is right there for Key, although he could stand to add some weight to his frame as he currently weighs 225 pounds. Still, he could come in right away and be a pass-rushing defensive end for the Gamecocks.

South Carolina currently ranks No. 10 in the Team Rankings and if they were to add Arden Key, it would give them overall score of 190.23 and put them in the Top Five at 247Sports.
