South Carolina has long been considered "home" for 2015 wide receiver commit Dexter "D.J." Neal from Stone Mountain, Georgia.
Neal committed in May of 2013 to the Gamecocks as he was one of the building blocks of the 2015 recruiting class that looks like it's headed towards a Top 10 ranking. However, even with his commitment, he's still shown interest in other programs. At one point in time, it looked like Neal would decommit from the Gamecocks and showed heavy interest in Tennessee and Auburn. However, he had a "heart-to-heart" talk with Lorenzo Ward and has seemingly been on board with the Gamecocks ever since.
Fast forward to today.
Neal is planning on visiting LSU towards the end of May and seems pretty excited about it if you go by his most recent Twitter posts.
Obviously, interest from a national power like LSU is certainly an intriguing opportunity. He doesn't have a listed offer from LSU so this may be an opportunity for them to proceed with an offer in-person once he visits or they may decide he's a lower priority for them compared to other receiver prospects and could slow play Neal the rest of the process.
It's understandable that he would be interested and wanted to see what they had to offer. However, it seems like Neal is still "shopping" around after all this time and if he continues to do so, he could miss out on his opportunity with the Gamecocks if he keeps it up.
For now, he remains a commitment for South Carolina. But he's someone to watch in the coming months to see how things transpire with him and the Gamecocks.
