If you take a look at 247sports.com Crystal Ball predictions on defensive back Chris Lammons, you'll start to notice a trend.
That trend is the Gamecocks look to be the front-runners to land the four-star cornerback from Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
It wasn't just a short time ago where South Carolina appeared to be out of the running for Lammons' commitment. But it's not because Lammons wasn't interested in South Carolina. It was actually the opposite.
The Gamecocks just didn't have room for Lammons when he previously had the idea that he wanted to be a Gamecock.
South Carolina currently has two commitments from cornerbacks in this class and that's Wesley Green and Al Harris Jr. Both players are the perfect prospects for the Gamecocks defense and when they both committed to South Carolina earlier this summer, it appeared the Gamecocks were all but finished with cornerbacks in this class. South Carolina decided to focus its final efforts on the defensive line but something has changed.
South Carolina appears set to land Chris Lammons on Monday when he announces his commitment with some other Florida prospects in Ermon Lane and Quincy Wilson. Both players are expected to choose Florida on Monday and it was widely expected that Lammons would as well. However, things seem to change earlier in the week and those vibes on his commitment began to trend toward South Carolina with TheBigSpur's Tony Morrell making the first prediction for the Gamecocks. It's been all South Carolina ever since.
If you're one of those folks that reads between the lines when it comes to recruiting, you've got to feel good about South Carolina's chances right now.
I guess we'll all find out on Monday where Lammons is thinking will be his future home.
