South Carolina is busy working on its 2013 recruiting class with a large group of official visitors this weekend.
That didn't stop them from getting a jump start on the 2014 recruiting class.
The Gamecocks landed three-star recruit Joe Blue from Dillon, SC today during an unofficial visit to the Gamecocks on Saturday.

Blue is a inside linebacker prospect who sported offers from Auburn, Florida, Georgia Tech and Southern Cal along with a few others before deciding that South Carolina was the place for him.
This continues the Dillon pipeline to South Carolina in recent years with WR Kwinton Smith and OL DJ Park already on campus and Bryce King set to enroll this summer.
Blue brings a lot to the table for South Carolina at a position they are looking to overhaul following the graduation of several senior linebackers after the 2012 season. South Carolina is looking to add a few more linebackers in the 2013 class but picking up Blue gives them another option in the future. There's also the possibility that Blue could find himself on the offensive side of the football as a potential fullback for the Gamecocks.
Regardless whether it's offense or defense, you can tell from the highlight reel that he can excel when given a chance. On defense, he brings a lot of pressure off the edge for Dillon and has a motor that doesn't give up. He's routinely in the backfield making solid tackles and keep the offense at bay. He even shows off some nice coverage skills and closing speed on the receiver. While on offense, he's seen working out of the Wildcat for Dillon and looks to be a strong North/South runner who just bulldozes his opponents. He's a sure ball-handler and just gains yards after contact.
South Carolina has found themselves quite a catch with their first recruit of the 2014 class.
