On Friday afternoon, the Gamecocks added a player that they've known for weeks would be a Gamecock.

Wide receiver recruit Terry Googer from College Park, Georgia announced a commitment to the South Carolina Gamecocks. Googer, a three-star recruit on 247sports.com, chose the Gamecocks over Clemson, Boston College, Cinncinati, Louisville, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Mississippi State and a host of other schools.

Googer primarily plays quarterback for Woodward Academy but the Gamecocks plan to make him their big, physical wide receiver target at the next level. The 6-foot-4, 209-pound player is expected to be a big target in goal-line situations early on but could grow into more of a tight end, H-back player that could be a real threat for South Carolina.

This was an expected decision for months now and Googer was one of a few wide receiver targets that South Carolina wanted to land in this 2014 recruiting class. The 247Sports' Crystal Ball Predictions were 100% to South Carolina and it turns out that all the analysts were right with their predictions on Googer.

What Googer brings to the table is an exceptional athlete but also a person who could be a great representative of the football team. He's got the work ethic and motivation that you see out of today's South Carolina football team and he'll fit right in with this group of football players you see at South Carolina.

This is the Gamecocks' 13th commitment for the class of 2014 and brings their ranking up to No. 26 in the 247Sports.com team recruiting rankings.
