South Carolina's leading receiver, Ace Sanders, has been named to the 2012 Hornung Watch List.

Sanders is one of 12 SEC players named to the list that is given annually to the nation's most versatile player in college football.

Here's what football legend Paul Hornung had to say:

“The Paul Hornung Award Watch List for the upcoming season is an impressive group of players who excel at multiple positions to help their teams win, which is how I played the game.It will be interesting to see which players excel during the season and emerge as the top choices of our Selection Committee.”

Sanders is expected to step up in the receiving game this season for the Gamecocks as he's a player charged with filling the production lost when Alshon Jeffery went to the NFL draft early. The senior wide receiver also serves as the Gamecocks' punt returner so he definitely is a versatile player with a chance for a big year.

Another recognition for one of the Gamecocks star players. Good luck Ace!
