South Carolina added another offensive lineman this weekend when Georgia offensive lineman Alan Knott committed to the Gamecocks Sunday night.
Offensive line coach Shawn Elliott sent out a tweet on Sunday night confirming that number four was in for the Gamecocks. Knott is the fourth offensive line commitment for the Gamecocks this recruiting cycle. Several outlets are reporting the commitment including SportstalkSC on Twitter.
Knott has been favoring the Gamecocks, along with North Carolina, for several months now and he must have felt the time was right to jump on board with South Carolina. So far, the Gamecocks have 17 commitments and the class seems to be filling up. Knott was obviously a take for South Carolina now but may not have been in a few months.
South Carolina appears to be getting a player who is capable of being a guard or a tackle at the next level. Right now, he's listed at 6'4" tall and weighing 265 pounds. The height is there and he can definitely add weight to play either position.
He's got a nice offer list of schools including USC, UNC, Virginia Tech, Miami and Louisville. UNC probably felt like they would land Knott in the end but give credit to Shawn Elliott for doing work on this offensive lineman. He's another piece to the puzzle for the Gamecocks.
Welcome Alan Knott to the Gamecock family!
