The South Carolina Gamecocks finished the season ranked #22 in both the AP Poll and the USA Today Coaches Poll. This is the first time the Gamecocks finished the season ranked in the final polls since 2001. USC finished the year at 9-5 after winning the SEC East. USC traveled to Atlanta twice in the month of December only to lose both games with one being the SEC Championship Game to Auburn and the other being the Chick-Fil-A Bowl to Florida State. USC was on the verge of their second 10-win season in school history but fell short in that goal.

Expect the Gamecocks to open the season in the Top 25 next year and be one of the favorites for a repeat SEC East title as this team returns a lot of talent. Check the football page on Life of a Gamecock for a little look at the 2011 season.
