The South Carolina men's basketball lost to ACC opponent Boston College 85-70. The final score doesn't indicate the rout the Gamecocks suffered at the hands of the Eagles. Joe Trapani scored 23 points and picked up 9 rebounds while Corey Raji picked up a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. South Carolina was led by freshman sensation Bruce Ellington with 21 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists. Ramon Galloway added 15 points and Malik Cooke added 13 points off the bench.
South Carolina was outrebounded 44-30 in this New Year's Day bash in front of a listed attendance of 8,658. The small crowd can be attributed to the holiday weekend and the Gamecocks football team played in Atlanta the night before.
South Carolina will return to action this Tuesday against S.C. State in it's final non-conference game before opening SEC play next Saturday against Vanderbilt. South Carolina is currently 8-4 on this young season.
