Josh Low from The Big Spur is reporting that USC commitment Mason Harris is planning on taking an official visit to Miami on January 28th. Harris has been a long time USC commitment who would fill an immediate need at linebacker at the next level. He runs the 40-yard-dash in 4.5 seconds so his size of 6'3" and 210 pounds could potentially fill into a SPUR type position of the hybrid safety/linebacker combo that USC has in their defense.
Miami is trying to return to the national spotlight and new coach Al Golden plans to do everything he can to get Miami back on track immediately. I think USC will have to watch this situation with Harris because it's always bad to see a commitment take an official visit after he visits your school. USC will have to show him everything they can on his official visit to convince him to drop Miami altogether and keep his USC commitment.
Stay tuned for updates on Harris and other USC recruits during this crunch time in recruiting till National Signing Day.
