Lakeem Jackson is sitting out tomorrow's basketball contest versus the Auburn Tigers with a foot injury. Coach Horn announced the injury earlier today and also said reserve guard Ramon Galloway will start in Jackson's place. This will be Galloway's first start of the season after serving as the Gamecocks sixth man all year long.
Galloway had a strong game shooting the basketball against Arkansas as he finished with 21 points on 8 of 16 shooting with 3 of 5 coming from behind the 3-point line. He scored 13 points in the first half. Jackson's absence will be missed in the hustle categories as he's notorious for find the basketball, gathering rebounds, and plays solid defense. Galloway will have to step up in these categories and continue his hot shooting. An improved first half from Bruce Ellington won't hurt either. The key for him is to stay out of foul trouble early. He needs to provide minutes for the Gamecocks to stay in the basketball game.
The Cocks will tip off tomorrow afternoon at 1:30 against the Auburn Tigers at the Colonial Life Arena.
