Former South Carolina tight end Weslye Saunders is reportedly ineligible for the NFL Draft and also the NFL Combine. It's just another in a string of bad things to happen to the young man who was considered a top tight end prospect entering the 2010 season.
Saunders' representation apparently didn't apply for a special exemption to be allowed into the NFL Draft since he was a senior but didn't play in the 2010 season with the Gamecocks. Since he's ineligible to participate in the draft then this also makes him ineligible for the NFL Combine as well.
Saunders was dismissed from the South Carolina football team after he was suspended due to some issues with the NCAA that involved a party in Florida hosted by agents. He also was under scrutiny for a hotel stay as his living accommodations at a local hotel in Columbia, South Carolina. The dismissal came after a violation of team rules following this suspension.
