Another group of Gamecocks named to a preseason team.

South Carolina had a total of seven players named to the Preseason SEC Media Days All-SEC team as voted by the media. Star running back Marcus Lattimore was the leading vote-getter in this year's team by receiving 201 out of 222 votes. He was picked as a part of the First-Team All-SEC list.

Joining Lattimore on the first-team is sophomore defensive end Jadeveon Clowney. Clowney received a 140 votes to lead the defensive lineman on the first team. This is the third straight year that the Gamecocks have had a sophomore on the First-Team All-SEC preseason team. Clowney was named this year as Lattimore was picked in 2011 and Stephon Gilmore was named in 2010.

The second-team offense lists center T.J. Johnson with eight votes. The defense lists two Gamecocks as defensive end Devin Taylor and safety D.J. Swearinger both were picked on the second-team. Taylor received 26 votes while Swearinger received 26 votes as well.

The third-team defense has DeVonte Holloman listed as one of the two linebackers in that group. Holloman received 20 votes.

Bruce Ellington was picked as a second-team specialist at the all-purpose positon. He picked up 56 votes.

South Carolina tied Florida in fifth place with seven selections a piece.
