There was a football game played on New Years Day between South Carolina and Michigan. It was a storied program versus a rising SEC program. There was star power on both sides of the football with the Wolverines with their all-everything Denard Robinson against the Gamecocks' Jadeveon Clowney.
One player made a statement in the 2013 edition of the Outback Bowl.
His name is Jadeveon Clowney. And he'll drink your milkshake.
The hit in the video above was arguably one of the biggest hits you'll ever see. Clowney was in the backfield faster than you can say, "four-peat," and knocked Michigan's Vincent Smith into the year 2015. His helmet went flying about 11 yards behind him from the force of the "hit heard 'round the world."
Clowney is living up to the hype and a hit like this will be at the forefront of the ensuing Heisman campaign starting for the 2013 season. Clowney finished 2012 in sixth place in the Heisman vote.
Who's to say he won't finish higher next year? This hit is just the start.
