South Carolina picked up a commitment today from a very talented JUCO defensive lineman.
Alfy Hill has committed to South Carolina according to TheBigSpur.com. Hill has had himself an interesting recruitment as he was a four-star recruit and signed with Alabama out of high school. He failed to qualify so ended up enrolling at East Carolina but then left school and went to a JUCO school in Mississippi. He's now at LA Valley Community College.
All of the jumping around still didn't deter Hill from remaining a top prospect and South Carolina seems to be the benefactor here. Hill is up to 6'5" tall and weighs 270 pounds. He's said to have added 40 pounds since high school. Hill looks to be a quality replacement for Devin Taylor next season and could form the duo of defensive ends with Jadeveon Clowney on the other side.
Hill has three years left to play two so he does have the option of redshirt available to him but USC will more than likely throw him into the mix right away in 2013.
This has the makings of a great pickup and Hill becomes South Carolina's second commitment of the 2013 class. He joins OL D.J. Park on the commitment list.
Welcome to the Gamecock family Alfy!
