Update on Adams and Dukes
Jerrell Adams and Phillip Dukes both made some visits this past weekend to schools in the south as they try to make their final decision on where to attend college. Adams took an unofficial visit to Clemson this weekend while Dukes took an official visit to North Carolina. Both players appear ready to make their decision and this update will give you an idea as to when they will announce.
plans to announce at his school on Wednesday morning at 10:30. This is also National Signing Day so whatever decision he makes will be the final one. Adams took the trip to Clemson to get an opportunity to see the school again as this was only his third trip to Clemson. Adams seemed to have a good time according to his cousin and looks like he's got a big decision on his hands. I feel as though he's been a Gamecock all along but this trip will certainly give him something to think about the next few days. I was thinking we would losing Adams but I'm feeling more confident about landing him right now and at this point project him to sign with USC.
Jerrell Adams has
Phillip Dukes took an official visit to UNC and I'm not sure it should give us any indication as to where he's leaning. This is a USC/Clemson battle and will be all the way till Tuesday morning when Dukes decides to announce his college decision at 11:00 in the morning. Dukes has been leaning to the Gamecocks for awhile now and I think he would add to the defensive line immediately and could help make the Gamecocks very strong up front on defense. Dukes and Adams have talked about attending college together and I feel better about landing Dukes than Adams right now. So that should tell you that I feel confident Dukes will choose USC this week.
Adams may not make it to college in 2011 but Dukes should be okay as far as grades are concerned. I think USC is in for some really good news this week and this should be two of the three final finishing touches to the 2011 recruiting class. We'll still be waiting for Mr. Clowney. I think we're all okay with that.
