South Carolina will host 2014 wide receiver prospect Braxton Berrios on an official visit this weekend according to Wes Mitchell of The Big Spur.

Berrios will be making his third straight weekend of official visits after visiting Oregon and Miami the past two weekends. Berrios has long been a recruit that South Carolina has been involved with but recently, it seems the Gamecocks have fallen down on his list of favorites.

Kentucky had been a team that gained staying power with Berrios and it certainly helped when they landed four-star quarterback Drew Barker. However, an offer from his childhood team, the Miami Hurricanes, seemingly sent the Hurricanes straight to the top of the list.

Oregon and their offense certainly has a lot to sell Berrios who appears to be a potential star in the slot receiver role. They've done enough to move to the top of his list and Oregon and Miami are considered the top two schools right now for Berrios with Ohio State somewhere after those two.

South Carolina getting an official visit from Berrios means they'll have the opportunity to sell Berrios on the program. The Gamecocks have had success the last year or so with receivers of a similar size and the offense is primed to continue its strong play in the near future. It also doesn't hurt that he's close with true freshman quarterback Connor Mitch.

What Berrios does from here will be interesting to see. Can the Gamecocks make a move this weekend? Absolutely. It's just widely unexpected for him to drop his favorite Miami and make a move somewhere else.

South Carolina will have their chance this weekend. We'll see what happens.
