Outside Linebacker Mohamed Kaba Commits to South Carolina

How Mohamed Kaba Fits Into South Carolina's 2020 Recruiting Class

The future of South Carolina’s defense got a little brighter yesterday with the commitment of outside linebacker Mohamed Kaba. Mohamed is from Clinton, NC and attended Clinton High School. Most experts projected Mohamed to stay in his home state of North Carolina and commit to North Carolina State University. We are happy that Mohamed felt at home in Columbia and will be coming to play for a true defensive minded head coach in Will Muschamp.

How Mohamed Kaba Fits Into South Carolina’s 2020 Recruiting Class

Mohamed Kaba is a four star linebacker with a rating of .9168. His commitment was a huge pickup for the 2020 class and bumped the class up to number nineteen in the nation. This does not seem very good but we only have six commits at the moment and are targeting a lot of high profile players. Mohamed Kaba was one of these high profile players. Mohamed Kaba has a big frame which will help him hold his own against physical SEC running backs. At 6’3″ 210 pounds, Kaba has a good shot at jumping into the rotation his freshman year. Long time linebacker Bryson Allen-Williams has graduated and moved on and Mohamed could help fill those shoes.

Our defense is starting to fill up with some very talented players. It will be interesting to see how all this talent coming into Columbia translates onto the field. If the talent of our players is any indication it looks like Muschamp has the team headed in the right direction. We got our first five star recruit since Clowney this past cycle and we are currently in the running for a few for 2020.

Take a second and go show Mohamed Kaba some love on social media and welcome him to the Gamecock family. He is going to be an asset to our defense these next few years!

GO COCKS!
